Recruiting Project Manager Tips

Because of the many traits and skills needed in a project manager, it can be tricky to find a candidate who is truly well-rounded in these areas.  Many may claim they have all that it takes, but asking specific questions and posing theoretical scenarios can be quite telling of actual skills and experience.  “What would you do if…” is a great way to probe for more telling answers.  Not everyone can be expected to know all aspects the job requires right away.  Find out if the candidate is humble enough to reach out for help.  Are they willing to do the research needed to solve specific problems?  Really do your homework when checking references.  How did they work with team members previously?  Are they a leader?  Are they able to deliver on commitments?
